![]() The unique feature is the 3-way toggle that switches between what JHS refers to as "100, 50 or 25 watt modes." There is a basic Eq knob like you would find on any typical gain box, and an "Air" knob that is a presence control focused in on the extreme high end, which allows to you dial out any extreme harshness in the high end - handy when plugging into, say, a Fender Twin with the bright switch on. It is definitely in the high gain Marshall vein - it's based on the JHS Angry Charlie (as in "Brown,") so it's very tempting to launch into "Panama" when you first kick this pedal on. I got a open box deal on one - it came in Monday so I've had a couple days with it. I always loved the lead tone he got with his Mesa Boogie Lone Star amps, but was shocked to find out recently that he has not even been using the distortion in the Mesa's in favor of this pedal. I've been a big fan of Andy for a while - he sounds to me like if Joe Satriani had been from Austin. And I was doing so well - guess I was bound to fall off the wagon sometime.
